In managing a stable ankle fracture in an adult patient within a primary care setting, advise immediate unrestricted weight-bearing as tolerated.

Arrange orthopaedic follow-up within 2 weeks if there is any uncertainty about the stability of the fracture.

Advise the patient to return for review if symptoms are not improving 6 weeks after injury.

Provide both verbal and written information about expected outcomes, activities to aid recovery, home care options, rehabilitation, and mobilisation including weight-bearing guidance.

Ensure documentation of all key communications and management plans.
