Approach to referral of a patient with suspected growth hormone deficiency:

Refer the patient to a specialist with the appropriate skills and experience, typically a paediatric endocrinologist or a consultant paediatrician with expertise in endocrine disorders.

Ensure the referral includes detailed clinical information, including growth measurements, symptoms suggestive of hormone deficiency, and any relevant history such as head injury or other causes of hypopituitarism.

Consider the possibility of hypopituitarism especially if the patient has persistent symptoms or signs consistent with pituitary hormone deficiencies, and if there is a history of head injury or other risk factors.

Coordinate with the specialist team to facilitate further endocrinological investigations and management.
