Referral criteria for suspected breast cancer include:

  • Consider a suspected cancer pathway referral for an unexplained axillary lump in women aged 30 and over [1. 4. 2].
  • Refer using a suspected cancer pathway referral for an unexplained breast lump in women aged 30 and over, with or without pain [1. 4. 1].
  • Consider a non-urgent referral for breast lumps in women under 30 [1. 4. 1].
  • Consider a suspected cancer pathway referral if there are skin changes that suggest breast cancer [1. 4. 2].
