Referral criteria for suspected Mycosis Fungoides to a specialist clinic:

  • Arrange referral for specialist dermatology assessment if Mycosis Fungoides (cutaneous T-cell lymphoma) is suspected, especially to exclude it from other differential diagnoses such as vitiligo or sarcoidosis.
  • Referral is particularly indicated if there is rapid spread of lesions or extensive disease, as these cases may benefit from specialist treatments such as phototherapy.
  • Referral should include consideration of any associated systemic symptoms such as unexplained lymphadenopathy, splenomegaly, night sweats, weight loss, or pruritus, which may suggest lymphoma involvement and require urgent specialist assessment.
  • In cases of unexplained lymphadenopathy or splenomegaly with systemic symptoms, consider urgent referral under suspected cancer pathways for lymphoma assessment.

These criteria emphasize the importance of early specialist evaluation to confirm diagnosis and initiate appropriate management.
