A 24-year-old woman presents with 6 weeks of amenorrhoea and lower abdominal pain. She has a positive urine pregnancy test and light vaginal spotting. Transvaginal ultrasound shows an empty uterus with a 2 cm adnexal mass and free fluid in the pouch of Douglas. She is haemodynamically stable. What is the most appropriate management?
